IT Help
Phishing email WARNING
Texas A&M students and employees are warned not to click any links in an email with the subject “student refund ready.”
Help Desk Central advises anyone who clicked on the link to reset their NetID password immediately at password.tamu.edu and delete the message.
The message claims to be sent from Student Business Services and has a Help Desk Central footer. While it looks authentic on the surface, the “View Information” link goes to a malicious site. By hovering over the “Visit Aggie Answers on our website: sbs.tamu.edu,” an incomplete link appears.
The campus community is advised to sign up for NetID Two-Factor Authentication at duo.tamu.edu for added security. Even if someone obtains a user’s password, they will not be able to sign in to campus services without authentication from their mobile device or landline.
