Letter from the Dean

October 4, 2016

Dean Andrew MorrissDear Texas A&M School of Law Community Member:

At the Texas A&M School of Law, we seek to create an environment characterized by openness, fairness, and equal access for all students, staff, and faculty. A welcoming and inclusive campus climate is grounded in mutual respect, nurtured by dialogue, and evidenced by a pattern of civil interaction. It is one of the foundations of our educational model. Creating and maintaining a community environment that respects individual needs, abilities, and potential is critically important.

As you may know, we are in the process of assessing how all members of our community experience the current campus climate via an Assessment of Learning and Working at Texas A&M University School of Law. The goals of the project are multifold: (1) identify successful initiatives; (2) uncover any challenges facing members of our community; and (3) develop strategic initiatives to build on the successes and address the challenges.

I encourage you to take a few minutes to help us understand the current climate at Texas A&M Law. The survey is designed to elicit information about both positive and challenging aspects of our climate and is your opportunity to describe your personal experiences and your observations and to offer suggestions for change that might enhance the campus climate at Texas A&M Law.

The survey is anonymous and confidential. Results will be reported in aggregate form only. You will not be identifiable as an individual. Your participation in this project is voluntary, but I hope you will participate in this landmark effort. This research has been reviewed and approved by the Texas A&M University Institutional Review Board. Additional information about the project is available at http://law.tamu.edu/climate-survey.

I urge you to take the twenty to thirty minutes needed to answer the questions by going to https://rankinsurveys4.com/law.tamu.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this vital project.

Sincerely,

Andrew P. Morriss
