Professor Irene Calboli:

  • Completed a mission as expert for the World Intellectual Property Organization to the Intellectual Property Office of Malaysia, and assisted in designing two new courses for the Intellectual Property Academy of Malaysia (Apr. 2017).

  • Lead a discussion on her book Intellectual Property Exhaustion and Parallel Trade as part of the BookIT Intellectual Property Book Talk Series held at ITT Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, Ill. (Apr. 3, 2017).

  • Served as a guest speaker on "Copyright Protection in the RCEP and TTP" at an Advanced Copyright Law Seminar at Columbia Law School, New York, NY (Apr. 4, 2017).

  • Presented her paper "Exhaustion and Trade in ASEAN" and co-organized a roundtable at the Sixth International Intellectual Property Scholars Roundtable held at New York University School of Law in New York, NY (Apr. 7-8, 2017).

  • Presented remarks on "Design Protection" at the 25th Annual Intellectual Property Law & Policy Conference held at Fordham University School of Law in New York, NY (Apr. 19-21, 2017).

Professor Srividhya Ragavan presented “Patents, Specialized Licenses & Issues” at Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) in Higher Education, a Government of India program held at National Law University, Jodhpur (Apr. 13-17, 2017).

  • Participated in the Aurounya University Inaugural Presentation, held at ITC Grand, Chennai (Apr. 22, 2017).

  • Presented “National IP Policy of India” at the World IP Forum held in Bangalore (Apr. 28, 2017).

  • Wrote “The Line Has Changed” for The Hindu Business Line (Apr. 26, 2017).

Professor Elizabeth Trujillo, co-convener of the global and comparative law program:

  • Presented “US-Cuban Relations:  Changing Attitudes in International Trade and the Path Forward” for the International Section of the Dallas Bar Association. The presentation discussed trends in U.S. international trade that may shed some light on future U.S.-Cuban trade and investment relations in this context (Apr. 19, 2017).

  • Hosted the Dean of University of Havana, Marta Moreno, and her colleague, Theresa Delgado, at Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas (Apr. 2017).

  • Moderated a roundtable entitled “Getting to Know Cuba,” hosted by the Texas A&M International Law Society (Apr. 20, 2017).

Professor Peter Yu:

  • outlined his new proposal to reform the investor-state dispute settlement mechanism to retain flexibilities provided by the WTO TRIPS Agreement at the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal symposium titled Moving Toward a 'Global Super Court'?: Examining and Reshaping Investor-State Arbitration at Loyola University Chicago School of Law (Apr. 7, 2017).

  • Organized the Intellectual Property and Global Development: Fifty Years After Stockholm symposium at Texas A&M University School of Law (Mar. 31-Apr. 1, 2017).

  • Presented "Crossfertilizing ISDS with TRIPS" at the 6th International Intellectual Property Scholars Roundtable at New York University School of Law (Apr. 8, 2017).
