This report is the result of a special practicum course on eminent domain organized by Professors Morriss, Bradbury, and Burress. The course, designed as a 50-state survey of the relevant laws and regulations, included eleven invited guest speakers who represented the many interests involved in the eminent domain issue and who provided an overview of how Texas law currently works in this area. The students researched and organized the report, which compares Texas law to the other states’ laws on eminent domain. Following the conclusion of the class, several students in the course delivered copies of the report to the members of the 85th Legislature in Austin, including the Chairmen of the Committees with authority over eminent domain.
