PFAS chemicals have been produced and in use for decades, leading to extensive contamination. The scientific understanding of these chemicals has increased over time, bringing to light the risks they pose to human health and the environment. EPA Attorney Erik Hanselman will discuss the history of PFAS use, the chemicals’ potential risks, and how EPA is taking action on the scientific, regulatory, and enforcement front to address this emerging concern.
