Texas A&M School of Law Hosts Opening Reception

It was a night of camaraderie, networking and celebration as more than 100 law school students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends came together to honor Texas A&M University School of Law on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at the Fort Worth Club.

Interim Dean Aric Short provided opening remarks for the reception and thanked everyone for attending. Dr. Karan L. Watson, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, followed Short’s remarks and spoke about the excitement surrounding the law school.

Many members of the Fort Worth community were in attendance including: the Hon. Bob McCoy, Second Court of Appeals; W.B. Zimmerman, City of Fort Worth Mayor Pro Tem; Robert Jameson, Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau President & CEO; Robert G. West, Whitaker, Chalk, Swindle & Schwartz, PLLC; Danny Scarth, Fort Worth City Council Member; and Ann Diamond, of the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office and President of the Tarrant County Bar Association.

From the Texas A&M University School of Law Dean’s Advisory Council attendees included: David Keltner, chair of the Dean’s Advisory Council and partner at Kelly Hart and Hallman LLP; Roland Johnson, attorney at Harris, Finely & Bogle, P.C.; Steve Mosher '95, partner at Whitaker, Chalk, Swindle & Schwartz PLLC; the Hon. Melody Wilkinson, 17th District Court; Neal Adams, president of Adams, Lynch and Loftin, P.C.; and Trisha Graham, Tarrant County Bar Association executive director.

All attendees received a Texas A&M University School of Law notepad and pen engraved with the law school’s logo
