Degree Options
We offer two graduate IP degrees:
Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property
The IP LL.M. degree is designed for students who already hold a J.D. degree or a first law degree from a non-U.S. law school. This degree targets practicing attorneys, U.S. law school graduates and international law students.
Master of Legal Studies (MLS) in Intellectual Property
The IP MLS degree -- the first of its kind in Texas -- targets those who do not plan to practice IP law, but whose careers can benefit from IP education. Potential MLS candidates include patent and trademark agents, technology managers, artists, writers, musicians, inventors, scientists, engineers, software developers, marketing specialists, government officials, business executives, public policy experts, journalists, and academics and graduate students in non-law disciplines.
