Public Interest Law Fellowship

Selfless Service
It's who we are. It's what we do.

Meet the President

Jessica MasonJessica Mason, 2020-21 President of the Texas A&M Public Interest Law Fellowship

It has been an honor, a privilege, and an utmost joy to be a part of the Law Fellowship for the past two years and serve as President for 2020-2021. This organization is what sold me on attending Texas A&M School of Law because it represented the commitment this institution has to selfless service and could provide a unique opportunity for me to give back with my education. The Law Fellowship strives to serve underrepresented and underserved communities by awarding fellowships to students who are dedicated to public interest work.

During the summer, our Law Fellows dedicate their time and emerging legal skills to make a difference all around Texas as well as the United States. Due to the impact of COVID-19, internship positions were uncertain this past year. However, our fellows arose to the challenge and, collectively, were still able to spend over 4,000 hours supporting public interest work.

The Texas A&M Public Interest Law Fellowship embodies all of the Aggie Core Values –– Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect, and Selfless Service. Our Law Fellows' dedication to excellent quality of work, high moral character, leading at every turn, commitment to the public good, respect for all, and service to the community is unmatched. It is truly humbling to be a part of an organization with such devotion to these values.

None of our work would be possible without the generosity of our donors. Year after year, we can count on community members' support to ensure this student-run organization can keep assisting deserving students with laudable goals of pursuing public interest work and giving back. In the time of a pandemic, access to justice and legal services is critical, and our mission to serve others is needed more than ever. We would appreciate any contribution you could give as well as spreading our mission with others.

On behalf of our fellows and all who have been touched by the Law Fellowship, thank you.
