Clinic Student Application

Thank you for your interest in our clinics, where you will gain valuable knowledge and actual experience in representing clients while helping our community. Submit the application below to apply. Please note you will need to upload your resume in order to submit your clinic application.

Students are advised to review the Clinic Application & Registration Information Packet before submitting an application.

Please also note this form is for Texas A&M School of Law students applying to enroll in a clinic. This is not the application to request clinical services or legal assistance. Potential clients: The request form for clinic services/legal assistance is available at law.tamu.edu/legal-assistance.

This application will allow you to apply for multiple clinics at the same time.

* Items with an asterisk are required.

Please fill-in the semester you are applying for. Please include the year, e.g. Fall 2025.
If you would like to plan ahead and apply for more than one semester, you will need a separate application for each semester.
*In what law school year will you be when you are enrolled in the clinic?

You may use this form to apply for one, two, or three different clinics for the semester you indicated above. If your first choice is full, we will contact you about enrolling for your second choice, and likewise for your third choice. If you make just one choice and it is full, we will contact you about enrolling in that clinic for a different semester. Please use the lists below to select as many as three choices, in your order of preference:

*First Choice

Second Choice

Third Choice

All Fall or Spring clinic students need to either have successfully completed or be concurrently enrolled in Professional Responsibility (“PR”).

*Select the PR course enrollment status applicable to you:

(PLEASE NOTE: you must be sure to enroll yourself in PR if taking the concurrent option)

Have you previously enrolled in a TAMU Law Clinic?

If yes? Which clinic?

Due to the time constraints of client work, working or doing an externship or internship is generally prohibited and strongly discouraged while taking any clinic that is 4 credit hours or more. Some special circumstances are allowed for these situations, but prior approval must be obtained by Dean Herrera and the clinic director. (This does not include TA or RA jobs on campus).
Do you plan on working, or applying to an internship or externship for the same semester?

All applications must include a resume.
*Please upload your current resume as a PDF.

By submitting this application, you acknowledge your understanding that in order to participate in a clinic you must: (1) be in good academic standing and (2) have either successfully completed Professional Responsibility or ensure you are registered to take it concurrently.

Please understand that the clinic commitment is a serious work experience and we discourage students from concurrently enrolling in externship, internship, or employment at another law firm, whether private, public interest, or governmental. We will require for you to submit a Conflict of Interest Form once you are accepted into the clinic.
