We welcome opportunities to partner with those who are committed to mentoring students, providing an educational experience, and exposing students to the range of legal activities involved in the sponsoring field supervisor's work.

An attorney interested in participating in the General Externship Program should have at least three years of experience, and be licensed and a member in good standing with the appropriate jurisdictional authority (or hold a JD if in a compliance or similarly approved law-related externship). Additionally, the attorney should not have been subject to sanctions either by a court or state bar. If the attorney has been sanctioned, the attorney will be requested to provide a brief statement specifying the date and nature of the sanction.

Attorneys interested in participating in the program should complete the Field Supervisor Application and return it to the Externship Director, Cecily Becker. Upon receipt, the Externship Director will review and follow-up with any questions and approve as appropriate.

Attorneys should review the Field Supervisor Basic Responsibilities. Attorneys can review the Student Eligibility and Basic Course Requirements sections to learn more about the course structure and student responsibilities.
