Prior to serving as a professor, Frederic White served as Dean and Professor of  Law at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law from 2008-2013.  As dean, he was  the chief academic and administrative officer for the law school.

Professor White began his legal career in 1973, as an associate attorney in the Cleveland, Ohio, office of the internal law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, where he specialized in municipal finance. In 1978, he joined the law faculty of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University where he remained until 2004. While at Cleveland-Marshall, besides teaching courses in property, wills and trusts, land use control and local government law, he also served as associate dean for five years. 

Before joining the law school faculty here, Professor White also served as Dean and Professor of Law at Golden Gate University School of Law, San Francisco, Calif., from 2004-08. He earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College, New York, N.Y. 

Professor White has been active with a number of institutions connected with legal education.  He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), the organization that develops and administers the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).  In addition, he has served as a Section Chair of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS), the scholarly membership arm of the legal academy.  Lastly, he has served on the Bar Admissions Committee of  the American Bar Association Section on Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar.  He currently serves as a member of the American Bar Association Accreditation Committee. 

His numerous other activities include: service as a Grand Jury Foreman, on the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association, and as a Public Member of the  Foreign Service Selection Board of the United States Department of State.
