For example, I spend a good amount of time developing Know-Your-Rights material, creating CLEs, and corresponding with inmates, prison officials, and other stakeholders about various things. Nonetheless, my experiences at Texas A&M Law prepared me well. For example, my time in the clinic and internships from when I was a student taught me empathy and how to keep clients on topic without being callous. My time as an Aggie Law Fellow taught me fundraising skills and how to appeal to donors. And of course, all of my classes taught me not only the substantive law but also how to communicate effectively as a lawyer whether that is for a judge or for a layman.close quote icon
