Types of Giving

Texas A&M University Foundation and the Law School work together to raise critical funds to support the law school’s comprehensive educational program. Here are the primary ways a donor can make a gift:

Endowments

Endowments provide critical support for faculty, students, and programs. The generosity of donors helps the Texas A&M University School of Law recruit outstanding faculty, provide scholarships to the best and brightest students, and support noteworthy academic programs.

Endowments are permanent funds that can be established to support specific programs, scholarships and/or faculty chairs at the Law School. Once an endowment donation is given, it is invested. Some of the income goes to the designated program, while the remaining income goes back to the fund, helping its value stay ahead of inflation.

A gift of $25,000 or more can initiate an endowment. These gifts are placed in a permanent fund and administered, for the Law School, by the Texas A&M University Foundation.

Law Dean’s Excellence Fund

Donations to the Dean’s Excellence Fund are unrestricted gifts that support faculty research, student scholarships and community outreach initiatives. In the competitive environment of higher education, these funds give Dean Morriss the flexibility to undertake new initiatives and programs to meet the law school’s most critical needs.
