The United Methodist Committee on Relief is accepting donations to aid in relief for the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. UMCOR is teaming with the United Church of Christ in Japan to coordinate relief efforts into a one-step process.

Members of the Texas Wesleyan community who wish to help in relief efforts can give online or bring checks to Polytechnic United Methodist Church, located at 1310 S. Collard St. Checks will be routed directly to UMCOR and should be made payable to Poly UMC with the memo “For Japan Relief.”

UMCOR is known for being a “first-on-the-ground” responder in disasters, and 100 percent of all donations go directly to relief.

The UMCOR Sager Brown Depot, headquarters for UMCOR's relief supply operations,  is also collecting birthing kits and school kits to send to Japan. More information about these kits is available on their web site.
