Summer Access to Bloomberg Law, Lexis Advance & Westlaw

Bloomberg Law - returning students have unlimited summer access to Bloomberg Law for academic OR work purposes and graduating students have unlimited access to Bloomberg Law for 6 months after graduation. To register for a Bloomberg Law account go to http://about.bloomberglaw.com/lawschools/overview/ (you do not need an activation code to sign up)

Lexis Advance - returning students have unlimited summer access to Lexis Advance for academic OR work purposes and graduating students have unlimited access until July 31, 2013. 

Westlaw- returning students must extend their passwords for summer use and can only use Westlaw for academic purposes during the summer. Graduating students' passwords expire May 31st but can be extended for limited use for bar prep. Go to http://lawschool.westlaw.com/shared/marketinfodisplay.asp?code=MI&id=322 for more information.

New Databases

FastCase (FastCase)
Fastcase puts the whole national law library on your desktop, with online access to cases, statutes, regulations, court rules, and bar publications, right at your fingertips. Added September 2014.

FastCase Premium (HeinOnline)
The convenience of using FastCase while researching in HeinOnline without the hassle of using multiple research datebases. FastCase Premium through HeinOnline also includes access to cases via HeinOnline through inline linking, case law citation lookup, ScholarCheck article references and the Negative Treatment Indicator. Added September 2014.

Law360 (LexisNexis)
Law360 offers nonstop coverage of high-stakes litigation across 42 practices, real-time tracking and reports on 10,000+ companies, firms and industries, and in-depth expert analysis from high-profile attorneys at top firms. Added August 2014.

Legal Source (EBSCO) 
Developed through a merger of high-quality databases from EBSCO and H.W. Wilson, and including many unique sources not previously available, this database provides full-text coverage of the world's most respected scholarly law journals. Legal Source is an excellent resource for attorneys, educators, business people, law librarians, students, paralegals, and others involved with the law. Includes all titles indexed in the Index to Legal Periodicals Retrospective: 1908-1981 (H.W. Wilson). Added August 2014.

Teaching Tips

Tuesday's Teaching Tips a weekly publication providing tips and resources for enhancing classroom teaching methods, was produced in fall 2009 by the Dee J. Kelly Law Library in conjunction with the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to assist adjunct professors with their classroom performance. The entire collection of Tuesday's Teaching Tips is now available on the Library website.
