Sometimes who you know is as important as what you know.

Networking is an integral part of your job search and future professional success. Making contacts within the legal community can assist with obtaining an internship or permanent position, as well as future client referrals. In addition, law students and new attorneys receive the benefits of mentorship and advice from attorneys who are farther along in their careers.

Area bar associations provide excellent opportunities for students to:

• meet many area attorneys
• participate in community service projects
• gain personal knowledge of a broad range of practice areas and the local legal communities.

The Office of Career Services sponsors students to attend local bar association luncheons, and discounted student memberships are often available.
